Week 1

 Week 1 – Welcome to A2

Dear Parents,

During our first week in A2, students focused on learning classroom routines and expectations. One important routine we established is writing the date on each page of lessons. This helps ensure that, if a student is absent or a lesson is not completed, both parents and students can clearly track what was missed on that date.

We also introduced the new version of the communication book. This year, students will be responsible for writing their own communication book inserts, which they were excited about and voted in favor of. This practice will help strengthen their writing, responsibility, and ownership of their learning, and acceptance of accountability.

In class, we began working with the vocabulary words for our first story and reviewed spelling rules, with a focus on plural forms. Since this is an introduction week, there will be no quiz or test this Thursday.

Please note that our first quiz will take place next Thursday, September 11th. The quiz will cover the following words, which can be found on page 47 of the communication book.
