Preview for week 6
As this will be a shorter week of lessons, we will begin previewing the Week 6 Word Work in class. During this time, students will be introduced to the upcoming vocabulary and spelling patterns so they can become familiar with the words before we begin working with them more deeply next week.
In class, students will practice recognizing the spelling patterns, discussing the meanings of the words, and completing short activities to help them understand how the words are used in context. This preview will help prepare them for next week’s lessons, reading activities, and assessments.
Previewing the material ahead of time allows students to build confidence and gives them more opportunities to practice the words before they are formally tested. Students are encouraged to review the words at home as well so they can feel comfortable with both the spelling patterns and the meanings.
