Week 11

Greetings, Students and Parents of A2                                                                                         Overall, the students performed well on their exams; however, I was somewhat disappointed that a few did not achieve the results I had anticipated. Moving forward, I will reflect on and adjust my lessons to place greater emphasis on reinforcing grammar conventions. I will also encourage students to read more actively and to highlight key components within each story to support comprehension and accuracy. The class averages were: 94 for the Written Exam, 96 for Listening, and 99 for the Oral Exam. I believe that carelessness may have affected some students’ written exam performance, particularly as a word bank was provided for s...

Week 10 Review Week

As we approach review week for the midterm exams, students will be preparing for three key assessment components: The Listening Exam, Oral Exam, and Written Exam.    The Listening Exam ( Tuesday, April 14 )   will follow a true listening format. The teacher will read the questions aloud, and students will select the correct answers on a provided answer sheet. While there is no formal review packet for this component, students are encouraged to review their communication books, focusing on vocabulary definitions, word collocations, and proper usage.    For the Oral Exam ( Thursday – Friday, April 16-17)  students will be asked to retell a story based on a sequence of pictures selected randomly from a set of three. To support preparation, the oral exam picture sets will be redistributed to all A2 students in color for review.   Regarding the Written Exam ( Tuesday, April 21)  All G4 students will be provided with compreh...

Week 9 The Horned Toad Prince

The Horned Toad Prince Story Week 9 Words PPT   Week 9 Overview and Update Dear Parents of A2, Due to the shortened week following our recent long weekend, the Week 9 unit test has been postponed to Friday . This adjustment allows our Grade 4 students additional time and instruction to fully develop the skills needed for success. This week, we will continue focusing on our story, The Horned Toad Prince , along with key components from the RWN curriculum. Special emphasis will be placed on the more challenging skill of combining two simple sentences using conjunctions such as “and,” “but,” and “or” to form compound sentences, as well as reinforcing the Week 9 vocabulary. Please note that  no Spanish vocabulary will be  tested this week. This decision has been made to provide students with more time for reinforcement, helping to build both their understanding and confidence. Thank you for your continued support.
