 Week 9 Overview and Update

Dear Parents of A2,

Due to the shortened week following our recent long weekend, the Week 9 unit test has been postponed to Friday. This adjustment allows our Grade 4 students additional time and instruction to fully develop the skills needed for success.

This week, we will continue focusing on our story, The Horned Toad Prince, along with key components from the RWN curriculum. Special emphasis will be placed on the more challenging skill of combining two simple sentences using conjunctions such as “and,” “but,” and “or” to form compound sentences, as well as reinforcing the Week 9 vocabulary.

Please note that no Spanish vocabulary will be tested this week. This decision has been made to provide students with more time for reinforcement, helping to build both their understanding and confidence.

Week 3

  This week will be an intensive week of learning as we complete The Man Who Invented Basketball . Students will be introduced to a new set of story words, though words #7, #8, and #22 will not be included in testing out of respect for personal beliefs and values . Alongside the story words and story comprehension, students will also focus on grammar with an introduction to pronouns. To conclude the week, our unit test on Thursday will cover the key components taught throughout these daily lessons.
