Week 19

 A2 final exams will be returned today, Thursday, June 19. I am very pleased with the overall results, as most students demonstrated meaningful improvement and are making strong progress toward their academic goals as they prepare for Grade 5.

It has been a wonderful and rewarding year in A2. Throughout the year, students have developed important reading, writing, vocabulary, and language skills that will serve as a strong foundation for future success. Their reading abilities have grown significantly, with students demonstrating greater fluency, comprehension, and confidence when reading a variety of texts. They have learned to identify key details, sequence events, distinguish between facts and opinions, and make connections between ideas within a passage.

In writing, students have shown impressive growth in their ability to organize their thoughts, write complete and detailed sentences, and express their ideas clearly. They have practiced using correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure while developing greater independence as writers. Many students have also improved their ability to revise and expand their writing with supporting details and descriptive language.

Vocabulary development has been another area of success. Students have learned a wide range of new words and have demonstrated an increasing ability to use them accurately in different contexts. Rather than simply memorizing definitions, they have practiced applying vocabulary through speaking, reading, and writing activities, allowing them to understand and use words in multiple ways and for different purposes.

Most importantly, students have developed stronger learning habits, greater confidence, and a willingness to challenge themselves academically. Their hard work, perseverance, and positive attitudes have contributed greatly to their growth this year.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the school year. I am proud of all that the students have accomplished and look forward to seeing them continue to succeed and thrive in Grade 5.
